Technical Data: Coexistence of Molding and Cutting Processes

By incorporating the features of molding and cutting processes, it is possible to manufacture high-quality products at the right price in a short period of time!

At Taiyo Seiko, we are currently proposing the coexistence of molded products and machined products. In the past, there have been many cases of switching from molded products to machined products and vice versa. However, rather than competing with molded and machined products, we believe that by properly separating the roles of molding and machining within the same product, we can deliver high-value-added products in terms of both cost and quality. Considering the characteristics of molding and machining, we can achieve "coexistence in different phases" where prototyping is done through machining and mass production through molding. Additionally, by performing secondary machining on molded products, we can achieve "coexistence in the same phase," enabling the production of high-quality products at appropriate prices in a short period! This document provides detailed information on the above along with examples. [Contents] ■ Advantages and disadvantages of plastic molding (molds) ■ Advantages and disadvantages of machining ■ Example 1: Prototyping through machining / mass production through molding ■ Example 2: Secondary machining after molding *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Numerous case studies of plastic machining available【Can accommodate from 1 piece】

"Machining is not just for metals! Machining of plastics [Download a collection of case studies!]”

"Plastic can also be machined!" While machining is often thought of as a method for processing metals, it is actually possible to machine plastics as well. Machining refers to a processing method that involves cutting and shaping materials such as plastic using cutting tools. The primary focus is on machining sheet-shaped materials in a flat manner, but it can also be enhanced with printing or vapor deposition for decorative purposes. Additionally, functional enhancements such as hard coatings and AR coatings are also possible. "Our Strengths" Our company has a large number of machines, allowing us to handle everything from large to small items, and from small quantities to large volumes. Due to our stable quality, we are also adopted in medical and educational settings, as well as in measurement instruments for astrophysics. Furthermore, we have processing experience with a wide range of plastics, including PMMA and PC, so we believe we can meet various requests. Please feel free to contact us for more detailed information. *You can immediately check our processing examples from the "PDF Download." For any other inquiries or to discuss prototypes, please contact us.*
